I found this window sill in a pile of waste headed for the landfill and thought I could do something with it.

photo02

The material is 6" by 25" by 2" thick with the rough (broken edge) on top.

photo03

I sanded the front surface to remove most grit and make it smoother before engraving.
This is the back view with the drip lip or drip edge above the text.

The process is text on text or called stacked text were text is layered.
This was my first attempt at engraving cement.

photo05

I used a carbide 1/8" carbide ball nose bit and engraved the layers at 45° and 315°.
The first layer engraved 0.05" and the second layer engraved at 0.100" .

It actually looks much better than the photos .
